US location is moved to another provider

Filed under: News — Mikayel Vardanyan @ 9:55 am

Due to some issues related to connection and availability of results from US location for some ports like SMTP default port(25), Tomcat default port(8080), we have decided to move our US location from our current server provider. (Go Daddy to other provider - Crucial Paradigm.) So starting from Sunday our previous US location IP (208.109.240.12) will be changed to 208.76.244.82. New server’s data center is located in Dallas, TX meaning that all the users which previously had no results available from US location in case of SMTP checks, starting from Sunday will have all that data available. The same is related to some ports such as 8080 and others.

Monitis added ported numbers support for Australian users

Filed under: News — Mikayel Vardanyan @ 5:54 pm

From now on Australian users with ported numbers will be able to receive SMS notifications on their mobile phones. To enable ported number support they simply need to check Ported Number parameter during addition of SMS contact.

Definition: Ported number is the number which is moved from one operator to another under the ‘number portability’ system.

It is currently supported in several countries one of which is Australia. In future we’re planning to add this support for other countries so it will be which widely used.

There are some problems being experienced on the following routes; from Global Crossing to Internap, Level3, Savvis, SBC, Verizon, XO. GoDaddy stopped our e-mails

Filed under: News — Hovhannes Avoyan @ 5:29 am

We were hosting our servers on Godaddy and were using Godaddy SMTP relay service for sending alert emails and reports. Today we received the following message:

YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR DAILY SMTP RELAY LIMIT

Your hosting server will be unable to send email until the daily SMTP relay limit is reset. The daily SMTP relay limit is reset on all accounts at midnight MST.

Although we use different providers, this is the first time we have seen such a message. We sent a request to the organization 12 hours ago and have heard no reply yet.

We are very sorry, but today some emails will be delivered later then expected until the limit is reset. I hope our customers also use IM and SMS as alternative channels. BTW we just enabled our users to buy extra SMS as needed - pure coincidence :) - and actually reach the limit because were sending announcement emails.

How to buy SMS

Filed under: Help — Mikayel Vardanyan @ 5:10 am

This opportunity is provided to all users using different plans. You will find “Buy SMS” item in the Tools section of your menu as it is shown in the screen shot below. After clicking on this item you will be presented with the following pop up.

Buy SMS

Current balance shows the number of used SMSs out of available ones. Total number of available SMSs consists of free SMSs allocated each month corresponding to each plan and purchased SMSs. Expiration date of free SMSs is one month which means that even if you didn’t use all the allocated free SMSs within the month period they can not be accumulated.  The next month you will have the same number of available free SMSs as in previous months. Purchased SMSs don’t have any expiration date and can be used as long as you’ve subscribed to our service.

To make a purchase just input the number of SMSs you will like to buy(minimum number of SMSs that can be purchased is 20). When changing the number in SMSs field the total price will be calculated automatically and will be shown in Total Price field. When you’re finished with this step, the only thing left is to make a payment using PayPal. Just click on the Order button and in a few seconds you will be redirected to PayPal. After successfully proceeding with payment refresh your page and check you Current Balance - it should be increased by the number of your purchased SMSs.

Filed under: News — Hovhannes Avoyan @ 7:33 pm

We are currently running a Monitis customer satisfaction survey via independent service SurveyMonkey.com. To our great pleasure the customers have expressed a high level of satisfaction. One of the important indicators is the response to the question “Would you recommend our service to your friends/colleagues“. More than 86 percent of the responses were positive:

We also received many good ideas. One of them, more variety of subscription plans, was implemented immediately. The other ideas may take a bit more time to implement, but we took notes and will include them in our development plans.

Thank you to all the respondents for your participation!
