New Easy-to-Remember Domain Name

Press release

SAN JOSÉ, CA., June 22, 2011 – Shakespeare wrote it: “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

Now, Monitis Inc., the award-winning provider of the world’s first all-in-one systems monitoring cloudware, is picking a new name for its highly successful free monitoring service for networks, servers and websites: Monitor.Us. The new name (re-christened from Mon.itor.Us) goes into effect immediately.  However, for the immediate future, both domain names will direct users to Mon.itor.Us.

“Now it will be easier than ever to remember our name – Monitor.Us – instead of Mon.itor.Us,” said Monitis Founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan. “We’re making it even easier for system administrators and webmasters to monitor their servers, networks and sites.  Simplifying the name of Monitor.Us – so that IT professionals can more easily remember the service — is just one more way organizations can keep their infrastructure running smoothly and keep users satisfied.”

Coming in June: Cloudflare Monitis App

Our New App for Cloudflare

Just a quick note to tell you that we’ve hooked up with Cloudflare, the web performance and security company, to offer a Monitis monitoring application that will be housed on Cloudflare’s dashboard.

So what this means is that if you’re using Cloudflare and you want to quickly access Monitis’s server, network, cloud platform and other monitoring services,  all it takes is one click to start the ball rolling.  This is a really cool complement to Monitis’s own set of widgets and tools.

Bravo to Cloudflare for recognizing the growing demand among companies for monitoring services — and for quick and safe apps to make it easier.  The whole reason behind development is that the company polled more than 500 website owners and found that 90% are concerned about the impact of poor performance of web applications and widgets that they install on their site. Meanwhile, 83% are worried about security risks from installed web applications.

We’re hard at work improving the usability of our monitoring service. Here are some new features.

1. Downtime in Notification Alerts. We added downtime to notification alerts to provide instant visibility into how long an issue has been taking place.

2. SLA reports show one result for ALL selection. To exclude network fluctuations from site performance related metrics we changed the calculation method in SLA reports. Now, if you request consolidated SLA for all locations, you will get SLA from the best performing location.

Konnichiwa (こんにちは!) Monitis Adds Monitoring Locations in Japan

Posted by Mikayel Vardanyan | Posted in News, Press Releases | Posted on 25-04-2011

SAN JOSÉ, CA., April 26, 2011– Monitis, the award-winning provider of the world’s first all-in-one monitoring cloudware, today announced the deployment of two new monitoring nodes in Japan. The monitoring stations are located in Tokyo – safe from the devastation of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Northeastern Japan.

This brings to 15 the total number of Monitis monitoring nodes operating around the world. Monitis’s stations across the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia and Central America monitor clients’ key IT processes every 60 seconds – offering fast and frequent checks simultaneously (and alert notifications, if necessary) into the health of servers, networks, applications, events, cloud storage facilities, cloud platforms, websites, transactions and other processes.

“We were very careful in establishing our new monitoring nodes in Japan because we realize how sensitive conditions in the country are now,” said Monitis Founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan. “Our primary goal is to expand the services to our customers who are providing applications to their clients in Japan, and as part of that goal, we wanted to ensure that we have enough fault tolerance by running the Japan checkpoint from more than one location.

At Monitis we take feedback very seriously. Over the past couple months we’ve been
hard at work adding new features and improving user experience based on requests
from our users. We’ve had a lot of requests for new reports, so we’ve added a lot of
functionality there. We’ve also simplified the dashboard to make it easier to find things.
Here are some of the enhancements.

1. New top menu layout for improved usability. We reduced the number of menu items to six, so hopefully things will be easier to find.

2. New HTML-based tabular views for extended support of Flash-disabled browsers.

3. New special management reports: We’ve added an Uptime Report, Performance Report, and SLA Reports for External, Fullpage and Transaction monitors. These show performance for the last day, week and month. Easily share with one-click email, PDF, or CSV. We recently made a video tutorial that goes over these and other reporting features.
