Performance testing made easy, affordable for QA, Developers and Webmasters!
Press Release

San Jose,April 28, 2009 – Monitis Inc., a leading provider of affordable, easy-to-use performance monitoring and management software announces website performance testing service. With new Monitis Web Load Tester companies can not only instantly run their site performance tests, but keep historical records and manage performance scripts.

Website availability can significantly affect companies revenue and its online reputation. An article in Digg or another social media has potential to boost significant traffic but can kill the site if not performance tested. Companies may lose their page ranking and sales instead of benefiting from the increased traffic. Load tests on every release of new features and running the tests on pre-production environment is needed to understand website’s resilience. Having said, it is unwarranted for most companies to keep redundant servers just for load testing.

Monitis Web Load Tester (www.webloadtester.com) is the solution to prior mentioned challenges. QA, web developers, webmasters and even advanced business users can create load tests and run them within minutes leveraging a scalable testing platform. Besides affordable pricing, the easy to use interface does not require any learning. Users can leverage Web Load Tester’s analytics interface to continue to benchmark modifications with historical results. Beta version of Web Load Tester is well received by 100+ customers. Prior version of Web Load Tester required users pay per each new test and sends test results via email. Current enhanced version offers users the ability to login to their account, prepay for multiple tests via paypal or credit card, manage reports and provide access to multiple users.

“Our mission is to continually provide affordable enterprise-class tools to IT specialists for systems performance management” said Hovhannes Avoyan, CEO of Monitis.  “Monitis now provides not only performance monitoring solutions, but also proactive performance testing”. Monitis planned series of new product announcements in the near future.

Even Yahoo Mail suffers outage

A fraction of Yahoo Mail users couldn’t get to their e-mail last Thursday, the company said. This is a good business case for applying Monitis transaction monitoring service. Plain website home page monitoring will not provide such kind of checks, while workflow based monitors can check the whole flow of the application – e.g. login, click on inbox, checking certain content, logout. The service is available to Monitis Plus subscribers and can also be purchased separately using custom plan builder.

What Makes Monitis Agent Different?

Posted by Hovhannes Avoyan | Posted in Articles, News | Posted on 01-04-2009

Many systems management software vendors provide agents for distributed monitoring. These are vendors which provide traditional installable software and some later provide software for software as a service (SaaS) option. We at Monitis made our agent with SaaS model by design. Particularly we understand that there is always a natural resistance to download and install an additional software, so we make the agent deployment process as easy as possible. What makes our agent truly unique? First of all, it is using client initiated HTTPs protocol to communicate with the Monitis Central Server. Benefits: you can install agents on every device which is connected to the Internet, even if it is behind firewall. Nothing should be changed in your firewall settings. Agents can be up and running within minutes (see How Internal Monitoring Works post). Second, Monitis agents are fully controllable from the Web, so once you installed agents, you can manage them centrally and without accessing the devices. You can automatically deploy multiple agents and then configure them all from the Web interface. With policy tools you can also change parameters for multiple agents promptly. It makes agent maintenance easy especially in really large and distributed IT infrastructures.Third, Monitis agent is self-updating allowing quickly deployment of agent new version without any overhead and benefiting from newly introduced features. Finally, Monitis provides single agent for all supported functions – performance, configuration management and automatic recover. No need to install additional agents or plugins. Monitis provides agents for Windows, Linux, and Solaris. FreeBSD and Apple versions will also be available soon.
